Having fun with Whimsy Stamps and Stamp Anniething

Hi Friends!
I was invited to take part in a a fun challenge and blog hop! The challenge was to use the Altas Jar stamp set from Whimsy Stamps and to pair it with any Stamp Anniething image of my choice. OH! we also had to include a water element a well.

If you have been following me for some time you know my cards usually feature a lot of layers so I also wanted to challenge myself even more by creating a one layer card.

For my card, I used the stamps from the Camping Themed Bundle by Stamp Anniething and I also used images from the Under the Sea themed Bundle also by Stamp Anniething
Everything was coloured using Copic markers and then some added details using coloured pencils.

I had so much fun taking part in this challenge and can honestly say I grew as a colourist by stepping outside of my comfort zone.

Be sure to hop along to see some seriously amazing creations by these talented ladies

Trying new things...

Hi Friends
Right now with everything going on and being unable to work, I decided to try something new. I recently showed a project I had done to Jennifer Dove who runs Copic Bootcamp. She loved what I had done but wanted to push me to go outside of my comfort zone. She wanted me to try creating my own face on one of Ann's images by using Creative Colour Placement.

I wanted to do some no line colour with copics as well. First I masked off the face on the image (Holly -Cheer Up) and then stamped the image with Birch Stamp Anniething hybrid ink

This is what the original image looked like next to the image where I practiced Creative Colour Placement...Now I will admit that my partner is a little freaked out by this image and in a way I can see that but the purpose of this exercise is to try something new and step outside of that box I have been in for the last little while. Even though those who I have showed it to have had mixed reactions to this, I am still proud of it and proud of myself. I tried something new and as a result I have grown as a colourist. In these times when we are stuck in our homes and the world is feeling a little scary and small, now is the perfect time to expand your horizons and try something new...learn new things and have fun with it.

I hope you are all safe and well, and I encourage you to use this time to be extra creative...try something new.

Whimsy Stamps - TP Dudley

Hi Friends!
I hope you are doing ok during this very crazy time. I am a dog groomer and unfortunately like so many people right now, I'm currently not working due to COVID 19.

I have been keeping myself occupied in my crafty space colouring and making cards, crocheting, weaving and spinning...what have you been up to right now?

I wanted to share this card I created today. A friend of mine inspired me as she also coloured up this adorable image from Whimsy Stamps and it is currently a free digital download. The name of the image is called TP Dudley and I will link it HERE

I had so much fun colouring him up with my Copic markers and then cut him out. I placed him on a simple stencilled background which I  placed on top of some bright green pattern paper.

I hope you like my card creation for today and hope you are all safe, happy, and healthy during this crazy time.

until next time - Stephen
