Believe In The Magic Of Christmas

The moment I saw Simon Says Stamp's "Believe in the Season" release, I immediately knew I needed the "Poinsettia" and "Believe" stamp sets. I initially thought it would be fun to try colouring the flower images with my coloured pencils but I didn't like the look I got with that, So I went back to what I felt most comfortable with - Copics. I think the Poinsettias would also look amazing watercolored but I am not really comfortable with that medium myself. I love the control I get with placement of colour with my Copics...and well I just enjoy colouring with them :)

I stamped the background using the Diagonal Stripes background stamp from Simon Says Stamp. I then die cut it out using my often used Stitched Rectangles Dies. I matted that on some red card stock as well as some gold glimmer card stock.
The sentiment is from the "Believe" stamp set, also from Simon Says Stamp. I love how versatile the set is, as you can mix and match the sentiments and use the stamp set all year round. I heat embossed the "believe" on some vellum with some gold embossing powder from Stampin' Up!, the "In The Magic Of Christmas" was heat embossed with black embossing powder from Stampin' Up!

I die cut the images with the coordinating dies and popped the poinsettia image up using some foam tape. I added some gold Nuvo Crystal Drops in the centre of the flower for some detail as well as added some clear Wink of Stella shimmer pen to the flower. To finish my card off, I added some gold metallic sequins from Pretty Pink Posh to tie together all the gold accents.

Till Next Time - Stephen

  1. This is gorgeous Stephen! I just got the poinsettia stamp set and I think the Believe stamp set is on my wish list. I'll have to move that onto my cart next time I order! The soft stripes in behind are just perfect. Absolutely beautiful card.
