Greetings from the Couch Card Kit Release

Hello Friends!

Welcome to the Greetings from the Couch card kit release celebration from My Favorite Things!

This kit is jam packed with stamps, dies, and awesome patten paper that will help you create the perfect scene card.  The possibilities are endless with this kit and the only limit is your imagination.

The Greetings from the Couch card kit is now available for purchase in the My Favorite Things online store. These kits tend to sell out very quickly, so grab yours before they’re gone.

With so many awesome scene builder dies in this kit, I just had to play around to create the most adorable living room scene. I used the Picture Window, Décor and More, Fundamental Furnishings, Potted plants and the Take a Seat Die-namics. I also used the Couch Potato stamp set.
I die cut all the elements using bright and vibrant coloured cardstock which was so fun. The dies  are so intricate but cut like butter and piecing together was a breeze.

I did a little bit of ink blending on the floor and behind the picture window to help finish off my scene and then stamped the sentiment on the top using the Couch Potato stamp set.

It’s a pretty simple card but really packs a punch. I can’t wait to see what you create using the Greetings from the Couch card kit.

Greetings from the Couch Card kit

Hello Friends!

Welcome to the Greetings from the Couch card kit preview from My Favorite Things!

This kit is jam packed with stamps, dies, and awesome patten paper that will help you create the perfect scene card.  The possibilities are endless with this kit and the only limit is your imagination.

The Greetings from the Couch card kit will be available for purchase in the My Favorite Things online store Tuesday May 24. These kits tend to sell out very quickly so grab yours before it gone.

I created a card project for the plant lover in your life. I used the Potted Plants Die-namics, Couch Potato Stamp Set, and lastly the Finishes and Textiles 6x6 paper pad.

I started by die cutting out the plants with various shades of green using the “Potted Plants” Die-namics. I had to much fun creating these adorable plants.
For my card design, I wanted the plants sitting on a a shelf that was hung on a wall. I used the tile like pattern from the “Finishes and Textures” paper pad and then stamped the sentiment from the “Couch Potato” stamp set using a black ink.

My Favorite Things Vault Release - Paintbrush

Hi Friends!
Welcome back for the final day of previews for the May 2022 vault release from My Favorite Things

Over the past few days, we showcased a slew of previously retired stamps and dies that will soon become staples in your collection.

The entire vault release in now AVAILABLE in the MFT online store!! Woohoo!

For my final project featuring the Vault release I played around with the “Paintbrush” Die-namics, the “Abstract Art” stamp set and lastly the Wavy Greetings” stamp set.

I started by stamping various images from the “Abstract Art” stamp set onto a piece of white card stock using Distress Oxide inks. I really love how these ink can lay overtop of each other since they are opaque, so I had a lot of fun just stamping any which way with any colour I felt like.

Next, I die cut out the “Paintbrush” Die-namics using a piece of wood grain textured card stock, a silver mirrored card stock and lastly a grey coloured card stock. I then stamped the grey part of the paintbrush using the same inks I used for the background with one of the smaller stamps from the Abstract Art stamp set. Once completed, I placed the diecut paintbrush onto my stamped background using foam tape.

To finish off my card, I stamped a sentiment from the “Wavy Greetings” stamp set using black ink, added a few rhinestones and matted my card front onto some kraft card stock.

My Favorite Things Vault Release - Zipper

Hi Friends!
Welcome to day 1 of the May 2022 vault release from My Favorite Things.
Over the course of the next few days we will be bringing back LOTS of previously retired but totally awesome stamps and dies. All the goodies you see today and tomorrow will be available in the MFT online shop on Tuesday May 17th

For my second project featuring the vault release goodies, I used the “Zipper” Die-namics as well the  “Ring Me” stamp set
I wanted to create a tie-dyed looking shirt for my project so I played around with my Distress Spray Stains and Oxide Sprays. I love the effect I achieved using the sprays and I really think it looks like tie-dye

The next part was the easiest part yet, I simply used the “Zipper” Die-namics overtop of the sprayed background piece and then ran the die through again using some white cardstock and dark grey cardstock.
I used the heart shape die included in the set to cut out a glitter heart pull. I felt the glitter heart very fitting for a tie-dyed hoodie pull and even added a small crystal to it as well.
To finish off my card, I used a sentiment from the “Ring Me” stamp set and stamped it directly onto the shirt using a black ink.

My Favorite Things Vault Release - Ring Me

Hi Friends!
Welcome to day 2 of the May 2022 vault release from My Favorite Things.
Over the course of the next few days we will be bringing back LOTS of previously retired but totally awesome stamps and dies. All the goodies you see today and tomorrow will be available in the MFT online shop on Tuesday May 17th

For my first project featuring the vault release goodies, I used the “Ring Me” stamp set and coordinating Die-namics. I also used the “Typewriter Text” background stamp.
I started by playing around with my Distress Spray Stains and Oxide Sprays to create my background. I also created a a piece I could die cut out the “Ring Me” phone die with. I love the textures that the sprays create rather than just cutting out the phone with regular card stock
I used the “Ring Me” stamp set to stamp out the rotary dial phone numbers as well as the “Ring Ring” sentiment onto some white cardstock. I placed a piece of kraft cardstock that was cut using the “Ring Me” Die-namics to add some colour contrast to my card.

I wanted to add a bit more texture to the my background so I used the “Typewriter Text” background stamp with some grey oxide ink.

To finish off my card, I stamped the sentiment from the “Ring Me” stamp set directly onto my background using a black ink.

I think this card is simple but packs a lot of punch visually and I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out…if I do say so myself haha

MFT & Friends - Mixed media card using Perfect Poppies

Hi Friends!
Welcome to May 2022 Release celebration from My Favorite Things.
All the goodies you see today as well as the previous 5 days are now available for purchase in the My Favorite Things online shop

I’m sure by now your list of “must haves” from this release keeps growing and growing...I know for myself, it sure was a challenge to decide which goodies I wanted to play with first. There was a die set in particular I really wanted to use and never got around to trying out…the “Perfect Poppies” Die-namics. It’s such a gorgeous die set and I am so thrilled with the card projects I created using it.
I started by going crazy with my Distress Spray Stains and Oxide Sprays creating a background using reds, oranges, and yellows. I then die cut the background using the “Perfect Poppies” Die-namics. Next I did some ink blending using a black ink the darken up the edges a bit so the colours would become a bit more muted.

I then created another background to place my newly created poppies on. I used the “Lots of Hearts” stencil with translucent crackle paste and then sprayed greens, oranges and yellows overtop. Once it was dried, I added some foundry wax overtop of the textured elements to give the card a but more interest and help emphasize the crackle hearts.

To finish off my card, I matted my card front onto some kraft cardstock and heat embossed a sentiment from the “Everyday Scripted Greetings” stamp set using white embossing powder.

My Favorite Things - You Make Me Hoppy

Hi Friends!
Welcome to Day 2 of the May 2022 Release Countdown from My Favorite Things.
All the goodies you see today will be available for purchase Tuesday May 10th at 10am EST.

For todays card creation using May release goodies, I played with the “You Make Me Hoppy” stamp set and coordinating Die-namics. I also used the previously released A2 Double Stitched Rectangle STAX, Mini Slimline Outside The Box Wave Die-namics, and the Perfect Plaid Paper Pad

I started by stamping out the images from the “You Make Me Hoppy” stamp set, colouring up the images using Copic markers and then cutting them out using the coordinating Die-namics

I have been on an INKY journey the last few weeks, so I wanted to explore that more with this card by using some fun backgrounds I created for the sky and for the waves.
I placed my images on my card front which was cut down using the A2 Double Stitched Rectangle STAX, I then paired it with a piece of gorgeous pattern paper from the Perfectly Plaid paper pad.
To finish off my card, I stamped the sentiment in black directly onto my background.
