MFT & Friends - Fishing You the Best Day Ever

 Hi Friends!

Welcome to the June 2021 MFT & Friends Release celebration! As always, My Favorite Things knocked this release out of the park and I had so much fun creating my projects.

For my final project of the release countdown, I decided to create a mini slimline card using the You Keep Me Afloat stamp set and coordinating Die-namics.

To create my scene, I started by ink blending a rainbow using Distress Inks using the Ray Of Light stencil from My Favorite Things. Next, I used Slimline Ocean Motion Die-namics and ink blended them using various blue Distress Inks and then layered new Wavy Lines stencil overtop to add some more texture and visual interest to my card.

I coloured the adorable image of the bunny in the boat using Copic markers and die cut it out using the coordinating Die-namics.
To finish off my card, I placed my card front onto a card base of kraft card stock, stamped the sentiment and added a fine strip of patterned card stock using the 6x6 Black & White stripes pattern paper pad.

Beach Bear

Hi Friends!
Welcome back for Day 1 of the My Favorite Things June Release Countdown.
Today I have a clean and simple card to share with you that will be sure to make a splash.
I adore the new Beach Bear stamp set, the images are just so sweet and there are such great sentiments included. While I was reading through the sentiments, I knew I had to create my project around the “I hope your day is flipping awesome” sentiment.
I stamped and coloured the image of the bear holding a flipper using Copic markers and cut it out using the coordinating Die-namics.
The background was fun and quick to create. I used some blue Distress Ink mixed with water and added it to some media card stock using a paintbrush. Next I used a Distress blower (sadly this tool is no longer made but if you have a paper straw you can achieve the same look as this) and did a few puffs to create the water splatter effect. I created a really fun rainbow background using this technique a few weeks back, if you want yo check that out I will link it HERE
To finish off my card, I cut a small strip of red striped pattern paper from the 6x6 Stripe Splash paper pad.
I love how this card turned out and hope you enjoyed it as much as I did making it.

Swimming Hole Friends

Hi Friends!
Welcome back for Day 2 of the My Favorite Things June Release Countdown.
For my project today, I created a slimline card using the super fun Swimming Hole Friends stamp set and coordinating Die-namics. I also am featuring the Slimline Stitched Square Trio Die-namics - which I know I will be reaching for time and time again.
I stamped out a few of favorite images from the stamp set and coloured them with Copic markers.
Next I ink blended a piece of white card stock using Distress Oxide Inks. I love how simple it was to create 3 vignettes using the Stitched Square Trio Die-namics. To help set my scene, I simply die cut out some ink blended grass using Slimline Grassy Hills Die-namics

I love how bright, cheery and fun this card is and I know someone is going to smile when they receive it.

Spa Day - Have a Spa-tacular Day

Hi Friends!

Welcome back for Day 3 of the June Release Countdown from My Favorite Things. I hope you have enjoyed previewing all the amazing new goodies as much as I have.

Today I created a card using the super adorable Spa Day stamp set and coordinating die-namics.

I stamped all my favorite images from this stamp set (which was practically the whole thing haha) and coloured them up using Copic markers.
I did some quick and easy ink blending to create a subtle background for my scene which makes the images really pop.

I really love how this card turned out if I do say so myself…and I had a blast creating with this stamp set. I know its one I will be reaching for again soon.

Let Your Hair Down

Hi Friends!
Welcome to Day 5 of the June 2021 Release Countdown from My Favorite Things!
Be sure to check the MFT website daily for lots of inspiration showcasing all the new goodies coming your way.

I coloured these adorable images using Copic markers and cut them out using the coordinating Die-namics. As I was colouring this set up, I couldn’t help but smile at the imagery…especially the bird that I put upside down.
I have been really into using Kraft card stock lately and knew I wanted to use that as my card base. I think it goes with virtually everything…if you have been having a hard time grabbing it from the MFT store, its probably my fault haha
My card layout is pretty simple, which I feel allows the image to really pop. I created a cloud background using my Copic airbrush system and added a piece of green card stock behind it and an accent of black and white patten paper.
Lastly, I stamped the sentiment on the vertical to help add to the illusion that the girl was way up in the tree.

Happy Birthday, Friend!

Hi Friends!
Welcome back for another Wednesday Sketch Challenge from My Favorite Things

I have been in a real rainbow mood the last few month and today was no exception - I may have gone a bit rainbow overload on this card...but can you honestly overdo it with rainbows? ;)

I pulled out the Balloon Bouquet stamp set and coordinating Die-namics for this weeks challenge, colouring them up with Copic markers.

I LOVE how the background turned out. To create the background, I mixed my Distress Inks with water - using a paintbrush to apply it to some Canson Bristol Smooth card stock. Next I used my Distress blower (sadly I believe this tool is no longer made) to blow air at the puddle of ink to create the rainbow splatters. You can get the same effect by using a straw if you don’t have a tool to blow the ink.
To finish off my card, I cut down my card front so its smaller than an A2 sized card, then matted it onto a piece of Lemon Chiffon prestige card stock from MFT. I stamped the sentiment in black onto Orange Zest Prestige card stock and cut it out, placing it on top of the balloons using foam tape.

Turn this inspiring sketch into a mini work to art to add to your stash - you could also add $50 worth of brand new MFT to your collection! Be sure to check out the MFT blog for more details

Stamp Anniething - The Socialites bundle

Hi Friends!
Today Stamp Anniething is kicking off the brand spanking new Socialites Bundle. This bundle is full of awesome stamps, coordinating dies and a new lace builder die set.

For my first project, I created a simple card using one of the amazing new images from the bundle that I coloured up using Copic markers. This stamp set has a bunch of accessories that you can stamp, colour up and die cut out to customize you character as you see fit. I decided to base this character off of the Queen from the Netflix show Bridgerton
For the remainder of my card, I used the Fancy Swirls stencil for the background and added the new lace builder die set from the bundle in coordinating colours

For my second card, I went all out and created a slimline slider card to help set the scene using two stamped images that I coloured up to look like Daphne and Simon from Bridgerton.
To create my scene, I used the Cloud Builder Stencil as well as the Cobblestone stencil and then added a frame around the scene using the Slimline Frame Die.

I stamped the sentiment “Shall we promenade” directly onto the card front and I love that when you pull the tab, Simon moves towards Daphne.

I hope you like my card creations using the new Socialites bundle. I love hearing from you, leave a comment in the comments section down below.
