Hi Friends!
Today is the day! Woohoo! The My Favorite Things March 2021 Release is finally available!
Soooo....who's excited? I had such a blast playing around with this months stellar offerings and I cannot wait to see what you make!
Ok, so those who have been following me for a while know this kind of card is not what you usually see from me...where is the Copic colouring?!? I have to say I had a blast not colouring...I cannot believe I just said that.
When I was making this card I decided I wanted to just play around with the More Brilliant Butterflies stamp set as well as the new Premium Dye inks from MFT...being a new design team member I had never even tried them until I made this card. I AM HOOKED and now I NEED to have all the colours that I don't have yet. The premium ink pads from MFT have a foam pad to them rather than a felt one and I was a bit surprised at first, but was excited to give them a whirl...MAN do they ever stamp AMAZING!!! If you are on the fence about them, seriously just try the ink cubes to see what you think but I guarantee you will be splurging to get the full size ink pads cause they are that great!
I stamped my favourite butterfly from the More Brilliant Butterflies stamp set in Poppin' Pink and Princess Pink Premium Dye Ink and then gold heat embossed the ornate wing pattern overtop and I love that they come with coordinating dies.
For my background I did some simple ink blending using Poppin' Pink and then layered the new basket Weave stencil overtop and did more ink blending with Poppin' Pink. I wanted to kick it up a notch so I added some glitter paste and some splatters. I love the texture it added to my card.
I die cut and layered 6 HUGS from the Twice the Hugs Die-namics and then head embossed the bottom portion using gold embossing powder and I love the effect it gave...it literally looks like liquid gold.
To finish off my card I added a frame of Poppin' Pink card stock around the boarder of my card and stamped the "& kisses" sentiment from the Lots of Hugs stamp set.
I hope you like my card creation for today and thanks for stopping by!
Always follow your creative heart
The butterfly does look crisp but well-saturated, and I love all the techniques you used to create a cohesive card. Thank you for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI love this butterflies and you made a beautiful card!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning! I love the gold over the two pinks, and putting the dark pink above the light pink really works on the butterfly.
ReplyDeleteWonderful butterfly card just stunning
ReplyDeleteThat is just beautiful. You are so good at putting different elements together and making it look cohesive. The look is really wonderful. You have a really good eye for this sort of thing. You used several different elements, and it all looks incredible together. I just noticed that you also do weaving, quilting, spinning.....I am going to see if you also post about those. I love the old crafts, and like to learn about them (in the past when I was "allowed" to travel and learn) when I travel in the USA and abroad. It is so interesting, and the final product means so much more, in my opinion, when it is hand made.
ReplyDeleteEvery detail is stunning!
ReplyDeleteThe gold embossing is a gorgeous touch.
ReplyDeletevery nice card

ReplyDeleteI really like the textures, great card.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card I really like the gold embossing on the bottom on for the hugs sentiment.
ReplyDeleteLove your card and all the colors look so good together. I love how you did the gold embossing on the hugs. It looks just like you dunked it in gold.
ReplyDeleteLove the use of the basketweave stencil in the background. I was not drawn to the butterflies immediately but through the artisans who chose to feature it - as you did - I am seeing that the butterflies have to move up the list to the "must put in cart" group.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
