My Favorite Things Vault Release - Paintbrush

Hi Friends!
Welcome back for the final day of previews for the May 2022 vault release from My Favorite Things

Over the past few days, we showcased a slew of previously retired stamps and dies that will soon become staples in your collection.

The entire vault release in now AVAILABLE in the MFT online store!! Woohoo!

For my final project featuring the Vault release I played around with the “Paintbrush” Die-namics, the “Abstract Art” stamp set and lastly the Wavy Greetings” stamp set.

I started by stamping various images from the “Abstract Art” stamp set onto a piece of white card stock using Distress Oxide inks. I really love how these ink can lay overtop of each other since they are opaque, so I had a lot of fun just stamping any which way with any colour I felt like.

Next, I die cut out the “Paintbrush” Die-namics using a piece of wood grain textured card stock, a silver mirrored card stock and lastly a grey coloured card stock. I then stamped the grey part of the paintbrush using the same inks I used for the background with one of the smaller stamps from the Abstract Art stamp set. Once completed, I placed the diecut paintbrush onto my stamped background using foam tape.

To finish off my card, I stamped a sentiment from the “Wavy Greetings” stamp set using black ink, added a few rhinestones and matted my card front onto some kraft card stock.

My Favorite Things Vault Release - Zipper

Hi Friends!
Welcome to day 1 of the May 2022 vault release from My Favorite Things.
Over the course of the next few days we will be bringing back LOTS of previously retired but totally awesome stamps and dies. All the goodies you see today and tomorrow will be available in the MFT online shop on Tuesday May 17th

For my second project featuring the vault release goodies, I used the “Zipper” Die-namics as well the  “Ring Me” stamp set
I wanted to create a tie-dyed looking shirt for my project so I played around with my Distress Spray Stains and Oxide Sprays. I love the effect I achieved using the sprays and I really think it looks like tie-dye

The next part was the easiest part yet, I simply used the “Zipper” Die-namics overtop of the sprayed background piece and then ran the die through again using some white cardstock and dark grey cardstock.
I used the heart shape die included in the set to cut out a glitter heart pull. I felt the glitter heart very fitting for a tie-dyed hoodie pull and even added a small crystal to it as well.
To finish off my card, I used a sentiment from the “Ring Me” stamp set and stamped it directly onto the shirt using a black ink.

My Favorite Things Vault Release - Ring Me

Hi Friends!
Welcome to day 2 of the May 2022 vault release from My Favorite Things.
Over the course of the next few days we will be bringing back LOTS of previously retired but totally awesome stamps and dies. All the goodies you see today and tomorrow will be available in the MFT online shop on Tuesday May 17th

For my first project featuring the vault release goodies, I used the “Ring Me” stamp set and coordinating Die-namics. I also used the “Typewriter Text” background stamp.
I started by playing around with my Distress Spray Stains and Oxide Sprays to create my background. I also created a a piece I could die cut out the “Ring Me” phone die with. I love the textures that the sprays create rather than just cutting out the phone with regular card stock
I used the “Ring Me” stamp set to stamp out the rotary dial phone numbers as well as the “Ring Ring” sentiment onto some white cardstock. I placed a piece of kraft cardstock that was cut using the “Ring Me” Die-namics to add some colour contrast to my card.

I wanted to add a bit more texture to the my background so I used the “Typewriter Text” background stamp with some grey oxide ink.

To finish off my card, I stamped the sentiment from the “Ring Me” stamp set directly onto my background using a black ink.

I think this card is simple but packs a lot of punch visually and I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out…if I do say so myself haha

MFT August Vault Release - Fall Friends

Hi Friends!
Welcome back for the final day of previews for the August vault release from My Favorite Things

Over the past few days, we showcased a slew of previously retired stamps and dies from artist Birdie Brown.

The best part of all is that the August vault release in now AVAILABLE in the MFT online store!! Woohoo!

For my final project using the August Vault release goodies, I just had to play with the Fall Friends stamp set and coordinating Die-namics.
I started by stamping out a few of the images from the set, coloring them with Copic markers and the cutting them out using the coordinating Die-namics.

For my background, I did some ink blending using some Fall colors with Distress Oxide inks. I then die cut out the Leafy Layer cover up Die-namics using some Gravel Grey prestige card stock from MFT and placed it overtop of the ink blended panel.
To finish off my card, I placed my colored images onto of the background along with a small circle velum piece. I heat embossed the sentiments onto JalapeƱo Popper card stock using white embossing powder as well as adding a few gold sequins for that extra sparkle sparkle ;)

I hope you enjoyed my card creations these past few days and maybe found some inspiration as well.

Thanks again for stopping by

MFT August Vault Release - Harvest Mouse

Hi Friends!
Welcome back for day 3 of the August vault release from My Favorite Things

Over the course of the next few days we will be bringing back LOTS of previously retired Birdie Brown stamps and dies.
For todays project, I decided to play with the super adorable Harvest Mouse stamp set. I am a real sucker for anything Mouse released when it comes to stamps…I simply adore coloring them up.
I started by stamping out a few of the image from the stamp set, coloring them up with my Copic markers and then cutting them out using the coordinating Die-namics.

For my background, I wanted to play with my inks and do a bit of ink smooshing. I pulled out the Watercolor Wash Freeform stencil and applied Distress Ink directly to the positive inlay piece from the stencil set. Once I had a liberal amount of ink on the stencil, I lightly misted it with water and then placed the stencil ink side down, directly onto some water color card stock.
Once my beautiful fall colored background was dried, I stamped one of the sentiments from the Harvest Mouse stamp set and then popped up the colored images with foam tape.

I will see you tomorrow for the final day of vault previews

MFT August Vault Release - Witch Way Is the Candy

Hi Friends!
Welcome back for day 2 of the August vault release from My Favorite Things

Over the course of the next few days we will be bringing back LOTS of previously retired Birdie Brown stamps and dies.

It has been ages since I have done a one layer card and I was in the mood to do some serious masking. I starting by stamping out the image I wanted to be in foreground (which in this case was the frog). I then stamped the frog image again onto some masking paper and cut that out with scissors, then placing it overtop of the stamped image. I repeated this step for each of the images (leaving the masking tape on top of the stamped image each time).
To set my scene, I wanted to create a spooky night sky. I did ink blending using Distress inks in purples, dark blues blacks and then bright yellow for the glowing moon. For the rolling hill, I used a green and then ink blended a black around the edges to give the appearance that the moon was creating a glow onto the grass.
Once my ink blending was compete, I removed all the masking paper and started coloring with my Copic markers.
I seriously love how this card turned out and I think I need to challenge myself in the future to create some more one layer cards. Let me know what you think…I would love to hear from you in the comments below.

MFT August Vault Release - Jingle All the Way

Hi Friends!
Welcome to day 3 of the August vault release from My Favorite Things.
Over the course of the next few days we will be bringing back LOTS of previously retired Birdie Brown stamps and dies.
For my first project, I decided to play with the Jungle All the Way stamp set and coordinating Die-namics.
I started by stamping out a few of my favorite images from the set, coloring them with Copics and then die cutting them out using the dies.
For my background, I ink blended a few shades of green in Distress Ink and then layered the Braided Boarder Die-namics overtop to help set my focal point. I then placed my colored imaged on top, added a few sequins and then stamped my sentiment JalapeƱo Popper premium dye ink from MFT.

I hope you found some inspiration from my card project and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow for more vault release goodness.

June Vault Release

Hi Friends
Welcome to the June 2021 Vault release day from My Favorite Things
I created a project using the You Make My Tail Wag stamp set and coordinating Die-namics.
I started by stamping out and colouring up some of the images using Copic markers and then cutting them out using the coordinating Die-namics.
I wanted to create a retro scene so I used a sheet from the Wallpaper Patterns 6x6 paper pad and used that as my background. To set my scene, I used the Window Dressing Die-namics and placed a piece of vellum behind it to give the effect of a frosted window. Next, I used one of the diecuts from the Houseplants Die-namics to help finish off my scene and then stamped my sentiment using black ink onto the top of my card.

My Favorite Things - June Vault Release - Day 2

Hi Friends!
Welcome to day 2 of the June 2021 Vault release from My Favorite Things.
I created a card using the Penguins in Paradise stamp set and coordinating Die-namics.
I stamped out and coloured up a few of the images from Penguins in Paradise stamp set using Copic markers and then cut them out using the coordinating Die-namics. I have really been in love with creating simple card layouts lately because it allows the focus to remain on the colouring.
The background is the recently released Scallop Stripe background stamp doing a tone on tone effect using coordinating card stock and prestige inks.

My Favorite Things - June Vault Release - Day 3

Hi Friends!
Welcome back for Day 3 of the June 2021 vault release from My Favorite Things.
Today I created a card using Green Pastures and The Whole Herd stamp sets
I started by stamping out and colouring the images from Green Pastures and The Whole Herd stamp sets with Copic Markers. Next, the images were die cut out using the coordinating Die-namics...I just love how close the dies cut to the images, giving the perfect amount white outline.
I created a simple background scene using Distress Inks and and the Ray Of Light Stencil.
To finish off my card, I heat embossed the sentiment using white embossing powder and die cut it out using a Fishtail Foundations Die-namics. For a splash of red, I used a sheet of red striped pattern paper from the Stripe Splash pattern paper pad.

I hope you enjoyed my project for today and perhaps got a bit of inspiration along the way. See you tomorrow for another day of Vault previews :)
