My Favorite Things March Release Countdown - Day 1

Hi Friends!!
Today is the final day of the March release countdown for My Favorite Things which means tomorrow all the new goodies will be available! I would love to hear what were your favourites from this release.

I must admit that being new to the My Favorite Things design team, I am still finding my wings and style. When I saw the adorable Grow Together stamp set, I just had to colour her up with my Copic markers...Colouring people images is my zen and comfort zone...truly my happy place! So what a perfect way to end the countdown.
I love the freedom that the Pure Innocence sets allow you when colouring them up...they are a blank canvas and you can use the open spaces the artist has provided to do paper piecing or do what I did and create your own pattern with your colour medium of choice. I decided to do some simple stripes with Copic makers.
I kept my card layout clean and simple, ink blending a quick background using Distress Inks and adding that extra pop by layering the Radiating Rays stencil overtop of the skyline.
To finish the card, I heat embossed the sentiment onto a banner die cut using white embossing powder and added a few sequins.

I will see you tomorrow for MFT & Friends product launch

My Favorite Things March Release Countdown - Day 4

Hello Friends,

Woohoo! we are one day closer to the March release by My Favorite Things! Only three more days of previews to go until the new release goes live! Eeeek!! Im excited...can't you tell?!

For today's countdown, I get to feature the lovely "Being with You" stamp set and coordinating Die-namics with you. This set is perfect for creating projects to send to that special someone to show them just how much you care.
I did simple Copic colouring of these beautifully illustrated images and then cut them out using the coordinating Die-namincs. Next, I made a quick and easy cloud background with the Mini Cloud Edges stencil using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. There was an awful lot of blue going on, so I decided to add a subtle pop of pink to frame the background using Princess Pink Card Stock.

Thanks for stopping by!
Stephen

MFT Stamps - London Mouse

Hi Friends!
Just wanted to share a card I made for my Dad's Birthday.

London Mouse stamp set by MFT stamps

My dad (and my entire family actually) is a big fan of the British Royal Family and all the presents I got him for his birthday  this year are themed around that. I was going through my stamp collection and discovered I had purchased this super adorable stamp set from MFT years ago and never used it (oops!!). The stamp set is called London Mouse and unfortunately it is a retired set...I hope you don't mind but I wanted to share this card creation with you still.
I coloured all the images with Copic makers and added some minor details with coloured pencil. I ink blended the background using Distress Inks and stencilled the cobblestone pavement using a stencil from Stamp Anniething.
I adore making scene cards and this one was super fun to create.
I hope you liked my card creation for today!
Until next time - Stephen

Pretty In Pink

Hi Friends!!
I created a clean and simple card to share with you today.

I coloured up the Jessica - Classic stamp set using Copic markers, then cut her out using my Brother Scan n Cut.
To create my background, I did some simple ink blending using Wilted Violet and Worn Lipstick Distress Ink on white cardstock. Next I picked out a stencil I had in my collection and spritzed it with water, placed it wet side down on top of the ink blended background. The water acts like bleach and gives you that super cool reversed stencil look.
To finish off my card, I added some rhinestones and then stamped my sentiment using some black ink.
I hope you like my card creation for today!
Until next time - Stephen

Creating a card with limited Colour Pallet

Hi Friends!
I am popping by to share another card creation using Stamp AnnieThing stamps. If you haven't noticed, I have been really into clean and simple cards lately. I really love the aesthetic of a card with lots of white space and a limited colour pallet...I think its not only pleasing to the eye but also lets the image really pop.

This card was really fast and fun to put together and is also the perfect card to send off to a friend if you want to send a quick note.

I wanted to keep the colour pallet small, so I only used Oranges, Yellows, and Reds. For an extra pop of colour and to help bring your attention to the stamped image, I added a nice rich blue colour.

The background was created by doing simple ink blending using Distress Oxides in the colours of - Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, and Barn Door. I then splatted some water on it to get the water droplet effect. I cut the bottom on a diagonal for some visual interest and then matted it on the same white cardstock as my card base.

For the image, I coloured up the super cute Lorraine - Sunshine using the following Copic markers

Copics:
Skin - E04, E11, E21, E00, E50, R20
Hair - T9, T6, T3
Swimsuit - B24, B26, B29
Floatie - Y15, Y17, YR16, YR18

I hope you liked my card creation for today!
Until next time - Stephen

Bellariffic Fridays - Winter White challenge

Happy Friday!
There are so many reasons to be exited about Fridays but one in particular I always look forward to is Bellariffic Fridays over on the Stamping Bella blog. I love challenges because they always put you outside of your comfort zone and make you create differently. This weeks challenge was a Winter White challenge.

I decided to use the Buddy and Jolly stamp set from Stamping Bella. This is one of the first sets I got from Stamping Bella and I feel it is so adaptable...you can colour the elves in traditional Christmas colours or do like I did and colour them in non traditional colours...switch up the sentiment and you have a card that is perfect for any chilly occasion.

I started by masking of a rectangle section on my card stock and ink blended some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink inside the masked off area. I then outlined the newly ink blended area with a silver gel pen and stamped the sentiment included in the stamp set. For some added detail, I used a white gel pen and added some dots as well as used the Snow Marker by Marvy to create the snow that Buddy is standing on. To finish off the card, I used silver sparkle paper to further frame the card.

I coloured Buddy using my copic markers using the following colours.
Copics:
Skin - E04, E11, E21, E00, E50, R20
Outfit - BG09, BG07, BG05, BG02, BG01, BG000, Y17, Y15, Y11
Hair/Coffee - E37, E35

I hope you enjoyed my card creation and be sure to check out the Stamping Bella blog to see what the other design team members created.

Until Next Time - Stephen

Stamping Bella Friday Challenge

Hello Friends! Its Bellariffic Friday over at the Stamping Bella blog and this weeks challenge is a card sketch.

I decided to follow the sketch completely and I am really pleased with how it turned out. I used Tiny Townie Susie the Succulent and her adjoining die.

I coloured her with my copic markers as well as a little bit of coloured pencil to get a extra definition in the nooks and crannies of this sweet image.

Copics:
Skin - E04, E11, E21, E00, E50, R2o
Hair - T7, T6, T4
Succulents - YG97, YG63, YG61, V91, RV95
Leggings - Y17, Y11, T4, T3, T1
Terracotta Pot - E19, E08, E97

Like I said earlier, I followed the card sketch completely and I kept the design pretty simple to allow the focus to remain on the image that I coloured.
I created a simple background, I used Distress Inks and blended Tumbled Glass for the sky and Shabby Shutters for the grass.

for the final detail, I added some Nuvo drops in English mustard for an extra pop of colour.

Lastly, I stamped the image in a very light grey ink on the inside of the card and then stamped the sentiment overtop in black ink.

I hope you enjoyed my card. Let me know who you would send this card to if you could.

Until next time - Stephen

Happy PurrDay with Stamp AnnieThing

Hi Friends! I have another card I am sharing today on my blog as well as the Stamp AnnieThing blog.
I needed a quick clean and simple Birthday card for my friend who is an avid Cat lover. I went through my collection and found Brittney - Purr and knew she would be just perfect or should I say PURR-fect for what I had in mind.
I coloured Brittney with Copic markers and fussy cut her out. I knew I wanted to make a window card, so I ink blended some Twisted Citron Distress Ink overtop of a stencil to make her really pop.
For the sentiment, I die cut out the word "Happy" and placed some striped pattern paper behind it. I stamped the word "Purr" from the stamp set and then added the word "Day" after for a fun play on words.
To finish the card, I adder a paw print diecut as well as some sequin and nuvo drops.

I hope you liked my card creation
Until next time - Stephen

Stamp AnnieThing October Release - Day 3

Hi and welcome to Day #3 of
Stamp Anniething's October Release!

Sofia is available in the store Today along with the other 2 stamps we showed you  this week!!
`~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

The card is a big departure for me...its super distressed, messy and ummm...not really me...BUT, I love how it turned out. Its never a bad thing to try new things and go outside your comfort zone - its actually very rewarding and I hope you really like it.
I started off by dusting off my never used Colour Bursts to create an almost firework like background. I then placed a rose stencil overtop and haphazardly added some roses using Black Soot Distress ink. Next I did the unthinkable...I crumpled it up and even ripped tares into it. I unfolded it and added more Black Soot Distress Inks. I grabbed some black ribbon I've had laying around for years and stapled it near the bottom of the card. I added a few sequins because it wouldn't be one of my cards without sequins :)
I stamped Sophia with Momento Tuxedo black ink as well as a number of the small roses and then coloured with Copic markers. I fussy cut everything...even creating a rose crown for Sophia using the roses.

I hope you like my card and don't forget to head over to Stamp AnnieThing as the October release is now LIVE!

Until next time - Stephen

SAT Autumn Leaves Challenge

Hi Friends! Stephen here to share a card I created using Diana - Sweater Weather
I decided to take inspiration from this months Autumn Leaves Challenge happening over in the Stamp AnnieThing's Stampers Facebook group.

I coloured Diana with my Copic markers as well as did some simple paper piecing using paper with a knit weave patten to it. This was a first for me and I am sure to try paper piecing again.
To create the background, I did some very quick and simple ink blending with Distress Inks. To add more detail, I did some flicking with a green Copic marker to create the look of grass.
To finish my scene, I die cut some clouds and some leaves that I coloured to give an Autumn feel to the card.
I hope you like my card and hope you play along with this month's Theme challenge.

Until next time - Stephen

Card Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone! It's my day to post at Stamp AnnieThing and I have a fun card to share. I used the Julie-Ahoy Matey stamp set for my challenge card. The theme for this challenge is a card sketch.

I decided to create a scene card inspired from the card sketch and man did I have a lot of fun creating this one. I created the ships wheel and the railing on my Silhouette Cameo. I really enjoyed creating these original elements for my card using my Silhouette. I did some ink blending with my Distress Inks on some Tim Holtz woodgrain card stock to create this ships deck. I also ink blended the background to set me scene as if Julie is sailing at dusk.I coloured Julie image with my Copic Markers and popped her up with some foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed my card!

Until next time - Stephen
