MFT Snow Globe card kit

Hi Friends!

Welcome to the My Favorite Things the Holiday Snow Globe card kit release.  This amazingly festive card kit is now available for purchase in the My Favorite Things online shop.

I created a clean and simple card base with a limited colour palate using whites and reds.

My inspiration for this card started with the pattern paper which is from the Holly Jolly paper pad.

I selected the Santa image from the Snow Globe Singles stamp set and then cut him out using the coordinating Die-namics. To create my background, used the Snow Globe Die-namics which coordinates perfectly with the circle shaker window inserts.
I stamped a few of the tree images from the Snow Globe Singles stamp set and stamped them in red.

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #559

Hi Friends!
Welcome to another Wednesday Sketch Challenge from My Favorite Things.

It must be funny visiting my blog or Instagram feed as of late…I’ve gone between making Halloween cards to Christmas cards and then back to Halloween haha….
In all honesty though, this is my most favorite time for card making as I have so much fun playing with both seasonal themes.
I decided to use the Everything but the Broom Die-namics that was released back in August. I had so much fun playing with it, I knew I wanted to spend some more time using it before spooky season was over.

The card sketch called for a slimline card design but I decided it alter it and design a traditional A2 sized card.

Using the Everything but the Broom Die-namics is quick and easy, simply grab the die and your favorite card stock colours and go to town.
I did a bit of ink blending and added some white gel pen details so they wouldn’t feel so flat.
I grabbed a sentiment from the Frightfully Sweet stamp set which I feel works perfectly with this card.

I hope you enjoyed my card creation for today!

MFT & Friends - September Release

Hi Friends!

Welcome to the My Favorite Things September MFT & Friends release celebration. Over the past 5 days, we showcased the amazing new goodies that are now available in the MFT online shop.

Today I created a slimline Christmas card that can quickly be massed produced yet packs a lot of punch style wise.

I used the Santa Sends His Love and Sweet Christmas stamp sets which are pretty unique. There are solid and outline images that can be stamped in various colours to create fast, bright and cheery images.

I used the slimline Stitched Circle Trio die set and then stamped the Christmas Greetings background stamp in black ink onto white card. I then placed the stamped images in the centers of the circle windows.

To finish off my card, I heat embossed the Itty Bitty Holiday sentiment set with white embossing powder onto black cardstock and then cut hem out using the Itty Bitty Banners Die-namics

MFT September Release Countdown - Day 1

Hi Friends!

Welcome to the My Favorite Things September Release Countdown. Over the past 5 days, myself and the rest of the design team showcased a variety of amazing new goodies that will be available in the MFT online shop on Tuesday September 7th @ 10am

For today’s projects I played around with the Bright Holidays stamp set and coordinating Die-namics, The Christmas Tree Background stencil and the Christmas Greetings Background stamp.

I stamped and coloured up the image using Copic markers and then cut it out using the coordinating Die-namics.
I just think this image is the most adorable yet!!

For my background, I used the Christmas Tree Background stencil with two shades of green Distress Ink. Leaving the stencil in place, I placed the Christmas Greetings background stamp overtop and stamped it using Gravel Grey Premium Dye ink from MFT.
To finish off my card, I stamped one of the sentiments from the Bright Holidays stamp set using black ink and added a matting of red cardstock.

MFT September Release Countdown - Day 2

Hi Friends!

Welcome to the My Favorite Things September Release Countdown. Over the next 2 days, I will be showcasing a variety of amazing new goodies that will be available in the MFT online shop on Tuesday September 7th @ 10am

The Special Delivery stamp set and coordinating Die-namics is a versatile stamp set that you can not only create holiday projects with but honestly it can be used year round and for many occasions.

I stamped out the majority of the images from this set, coloured them up using Copics and then cut them out using the coordinating Die-namics.
I wanted to create a bright and cheery scene that necessarily wasn’t for Christmas so I used a primary colour palette.
The clouds were created by ink blending using the Slimline Cloud Edges stencil and I paired it with some snowy hills that I created by using the Stitched Slimline Snow Drifts.

To finish of my card, I placed the card front onto some black card stock that was slightly larger than the card front  and stamped the sentiment using black ink

MFT September Release Countdown - Day 3

Hi Friends!

Welcome to the My Favorite Things September Release Countdown. Over the next 3 days, I will be showcasing a variety of amazing new goodies that will be available in the MFT online shop on Tuesday September 7th @ 10am

I’m in the Christmas spirit with this release and I created a card that’s “purr-fact” for the cat fanatic in your life. The Meowy Christmas stamp set is filled with lots of adorable cat images that are so fun to colour up and create scenes with.

I selected a few of the images from the set, coloured them up with Copic markers and then cut them out using the coordinating Die-namics.
I wanted to play with the new Fireplace Die-namics side set and it works perfect for my Christmas kitty scene. I pulled out the Window Dressing die-namics which is perfectly sized to go with the fireplace…I am gonna have so much fun creating winter scenes using these dies.
To create the wallpaper, I simply cut a piece of Cheerful Plaid of the 6 x 6 paper pad…that pattern paper set is the perfect addition (and must have) to your pattern paper collection.
I hope you enjoyed my card creation for today using all the lovely new MFT goodies!
I will see you tomorrow with more previews and inspiration :)

MFT September Release Countdown - Day 4

Hi Friends!

Welcome to the My Favorite Things September Release Countdown. Over the next 4 days, I will be showcasing a variety of amazing new goodies that will be available in the MFT online shop on Tuesday September 7th @ 10am

I have been itching to make some Christmas cards and was so pumped when I saw the “Paw La La La La” stamp set. Not only is it the cutest stamp set but its perfect for the dog and cat lover in your life.

I started by stamping out, coloring the image using Copic markers and then cutting it out using the coordinating Die-namincs.

I cut a piece of pattern from the new Keep Me In Stitches 6 x 6 paper pad and then placed a white piece of card stock that I die cut out using the A2 Double Stitched Rectangles Die-namics. I did some quick ink blending using a blue ink, added some platters for some texture and then placed my colored image on top.
To finish off my card, I stamped the sentiment in black ink and added a few sequins.

We will see you tomorrow for another day of inspiration and previews

My Favorite Things WSC555

Hello Friends!

After an exciting conclusion to the Birdie Brown August Vault release yesterday from My Favorite Things, I just had to create another project using more of the newly re-released goodies.

For this weeks Wednesday Sketch Challenge, I pulled out the Frightfully Sweet stamp set and coordinating Die-namics.

I stamped a few of the super CUTE critters, colored them with Copics and die cut them out using the coordinating dies.

I dusted off my texture paste and used the Slimline English Brick Stencil. Once the texture paste was dry, I ink blended black soot Distress Ink overtop.
I had a happy accident while creating this card…I was splattering some mica spray onto my card front when I accidentally spilled some of the bottle onto my brick background. I let it dry and love how it filled the cracks and gaps around each brick…sometimes accidents can be a great thing.

I cut out a circle from white card stock and attempted to make it look the the moon using Copic markers. I’m not entirely sure I was successful but I learned a lot on what I would do differently the next time.

I hope you like my Too Cute to Spook card creation for today
:)

MFT August Vault Release - Fall Friends

Hi Friends!
Welcome back for the final day of previews for the August vault release from My Favorite Things

Over the past few days, we showcased a slew of previously retired stamps and dies from artist Birdie Brown.

The best part of all is that the August vault release in now AVAILABLE in the MFT online store!! Woohoo!

For my final project using the August Vault release goodies, I just had to play with the Fall Friends stamp set and coordinating Die-namics.
I started by stamping out a few of the images from the set, coloring them with Copic markers and the cutting them out using the coordinating Die-namics.

For my background, I did some ink blending using some Fall colors with Distress Oxide inks. I then die cut out the Leafy Layer cover up Die-namics using some Gravel Grey prestige card stock from MFT and placed it overtop of the ink blended panel.
To finish off my card, I placed my colored images onto of the background along with a small circle velum piece. I heat embossed the sentiments onto JalapeƱo Popper card stock using white embossing powder as well as adding a few gold sequins for that extra sparkle sparkle ;)

I hope you enjoyed my card creations these past few days and maybe found some inspiration as well.

MFT August Vault Release - Harvest Mouse

Hi Friends!
Welcome back for day 3 of the August vault release from My Favorite Things

Over the course of the next few days we will be bringing back LOTS of previously retired Birdie Brown stamps and dies.
For todays project, I decided to play with the super adorable Harvest Mouse stamp set. I am a real sucker for anything Mouse released when it comes to stamps…I simply adore coloring them up.
I started by stamping out a few of the image from the stamp set, coloring them up with my Copic markers and then cutting them out using the coordinating Die-namics.

For my background, I wanted to play with my inks and do a bit of ink smooshing. I pulled out the Watercolor Wash Freeform stencil and applied Distress Ink directly to the positive inlay piece from the stencil set. Once I had a liberal amount of ink on the stencil, I lightly misted it with water and then placed the stencil ink side down, directly onto some water color card stock.
Once my beautiful fall colored background was dried, I stamped one of the sentiments from the Harvest Mouse stamp set and then popped up the colored images with foam tape.

I will see you tomorrow for the final day of vault previews

The August vault release goes Live in the MFT online store August 17th at 10am EST

MFT August Vault Release - Witch Way Is the Candy

Hi Friends!
Welcome back for day 2 of the August vault release from My Favorite Things

Over the course of the next few days we will be bringing back LOTS of previously retired Birdie Brown stamps and dies.

It has been ages since I have done a one layer card and I was in the mood to do some serious masking. I starting by stamping out the image I wanted to be in foreground (which in this case was the frog). I then stamped the frog image again onto some masking paper and cut that out with scissors, then placing it overtop of the stamped image. I repeated this step for each of the images (leaving the masking tape on top of the stamped image each time).
To set my scene, I wanted to create a spooky night sky. I did ink blending using Distress inks in purples, dark blues blacks and then bright yellow for the glowing moon. For the rolling hill, I used a green and then ink blended a black around the edges to give the appearance that the moon was creating a glow onto the grass.
Once my ink blending was compete, I removed all the masking paper and started coloring with my Copic markers.
I seriously love how this card turned out and I think I need to challenge myself in the future to create some more one layer cards. Let me know what you think…I would love to hear from you in the comments below.
